On Saturday a SSCC XI went to Walton le Dale CC for a runout before the season starts. Matt Cowburn won the toss, and gladly put WLD into bat on a typical soft April wicket. We limited them to 149 off their 45 overs. Pick of the bowlers were Josh Brown who somehow didn’t pick up a wicket and debutant James Downer taking part in his first ever senior game…

In reply Tyne Davis and Ryan Adderley put on a quick 70 for the opening partnership, with the former retiring on 50 off just 35 balls. Adderley fell on a solid 41, whilst vice captain Dan Jardine and Matt Rowley knocked off the remaining runs with a further 25 overs still remaining to win the game for SSCC by 8 wickets.
